Grant Residence
Problem- There was no flow, no direction and no interest in this landscape, just lawn, large trees and a hedge.
Problem- The yard did not reflect the clients interest in native and ornamental plants, stone elements and an interesting, functional landscape
Problem- There was no clear way for guests to walk up to the front door from the street
Problem- There are some nice existing structural elements to this landscape. They simply need to be supported and repeated
Problem- Nothing but lawn and deck footings to look at. The slope was prohibitive but not undesirable
Client wanted to create an outside social space to take advantage of view site among the trees
Problem- This entry needed to be improved upon!
Problem- The existing terraces did not seem to be effective in growing plant material and were a little tight
Timbers had to go to make way for a more natural, fluid pathway through the landscape
stone seating with plantings
Granite outcrops define pathways that are supported by plantings which replace lawn
A new destination and focal point on the property
Stone steps provide access for guests and homeowners with more interest than just lawn
Granite Outcrops and steps replace timber terracing and risers to create a more natural effect
Providing a welcoming entrance for guests, and a pleasant climb up stone steps through the new landscape
This fantastic existing boulder had to be supported with a tree more stone and plantings. It also needed to be seen upon entering the property.
Removing the timbers and adding stone alone improves the aesthetic, and gives the landscape a timeless quality
Replacing the lawn with native and ornamental ground covers, trees and shrubs transformed this manicured property into a dynamic, low maintenance landscape
Broad strokes of blooming ground cover, ornamental grass with stone provide a pleasing experience
